In This Together
A heart-warming piece of community Zoom Theatre
Hannah devised this performance with a company of 4 actors from across England. The performance uses a number of Zoom features (waiting room, breakout room, screensharing, multiple devices, location of cameras etc) as a way of enhancing the show and character development, rather than adapting a piece to fit a live digital broadcasting.
This is project is born from the desire to continue making theatre despite the pandemic.
The Show
Join Mary, Julia, Jenny and Gary as these 4 neighbours support each across across lockdown. What starts as a friendly wave every Thursday at the NHS 8pm clap, turns into so much more.
Everyone is going through their own struggles, and these four are no exception. Mary is ill with the virus and worried about returning to her police work, Gary has been fired but is lying about it, Jenny has the boss from hell whilst looking after her vulnerable patients, and Julia has lost access to her business due to being hacked and harrassed. Theres even cases of stolen shopping in the neighbourhood! But every Thursday at 8pm, they put these issues aside to clap for their key workers.
The group learn that looking after your community and being kind is the most important thing, this tear-jerking performance is relateable and emotional.
